EN: The church of Wisen was built in 1837; it was first a branch church of the parish Ifenthal. In 1875 the cemetery in the churchyard was established and the sacristy was attached. In 1866 Wisen became a separate parish. The steeple was replaced by a new one in 1925. In 1951 there were plans for a new building; this was not executed, but the old church was listed under preservation order. 1982 the church was renovated.
The nave has a rounded termination to which adjoins a rectangular chancel. The long sacristy in the south is also rounded. A special feature is that the Church stands almost two meters below the level of the street, where the main entrance is.
DE: Die Kirche von Wisen wurde 1837 erbaut; sie war zuerst eine Filialkirche der Pfarrei Ifenthal. 1875 wurde der Friedhof im Kirchhof eingerichtet und die Sakristei angebaut. 1866 wurde Wisen zu einer eigenen Pfarrei. Der Kirchturm wurde 1925 durch einen neuen ersetzt. 1951 gab es Pläne für einen Neubau; dieser wurde allerdings nicht ausgeführt, sondern die alte Kirche unter Denkmalschutz gestellt. 1982 wurde die Kirche renoviert.
Das Kirchenschiff hat einen runden Abschluss, an das ein rechteckiger Chor anschliesst. Die längliche Sakristei im Süden ist ebenfalls abgerundet. Eine Besonderheit ist, dass die Kirche fast zwei Meter unter dem Niveau der Strasse steht, wo sich der Haupteingang befindet.
