Len Rowlatt built this barn in 1939 to complement his existing barn that was constructed 41 years earlier. Today the Annand/Rowlatt Farmstead has been restored and is a part of the Campbell Valley Regional Park.

After the forest was logged in Langley and the Fraser Valley the cleared land was used for agricultral purposes. At the Annand/Rowlatt Farmstead farming began in the late 1800s.
By 1939 there was need for a bigger barn for the dairy herd, so Len Rowlatt built this Gambrell-Roofed barn for his needs.

Formal architectural qualities such as: post and beam heavy timber frame that supports a loft floor, 2nd floor loft framed with a 3 pinned rough sawn timber arches, 2 wood man-doors on the main floor, a full-sized wood panel door centred on the east facade, a sliding barn door centred on the west facade, double doors on the floor level of the hayloft of the west facade, a wide vertically sliding hay-loading door above on the west facade
