The Naramata Fire Rescue offers public fire prevention education and first aid refresher courses for staff.
The Naramata Fire Rescue as 30 firefighters, responding with one medical unit, a marine unit for water rescues, an auto extrication unit that has the Jaws of Life and fire suppression. In 2015 the department celebrated their 60th year.
The department has fought many structure and interface fires over the years. One of the biggest challenges was the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park fire. We lived in the area during this devastating fire and watched it from our driveway.
