Located at the NE corner of the Women's Building is a dedicated bench containing a plaque embedded in concrete in front of the bench that reads:

"In Loving Memory of
Janet Wildish
Live Well,
Laught Often,
Love Much"
1977-2004

I did a little research online for Janet and located a number of articles mentioning her in 2004 as having been thrown from a boat on the Columbia River while boating with her husband and 20-mo old daughter and the boat's owners. All but Janet were rescued by another boat who happened to be in the area. It is presumed that Janet's body was never recovered from the river. She was from Tigard, OR.
