The hamlet of Mt Lehman was established in the 1870s when a riverboat landing was created on the Fraser River. In 1910 the BC Electric Railway was completed shifting the centre of the commercial community to where this post office is currently located.
The Mt Lehman Post Office was built in the early 1970s and is a classic example of the architecture that Canada Post was using at that time.
