An apartment development for the site was to see only the facade retained of this heritage listed building however in the end the entire building was beautifully restored.
The Illawarra Mercury newspaper published an article about the building's future on May 7 2014 with a photograph of the lodge showing its poor state of repair. It is a very attractive building now. That article can be found here: (
