Rok 2001 byl rokem opravdu mimorádným – zacalo nové milénium, byl to dostatecný duvod vysadit památný strom i v Blansku. Strom, který by nesl dále odkaz naší doby. Ve svátecní den 17. listopadu 2000 zasadil tehdejší starosta mesta Blanska, Miloslav Kala, pred blanenským kinem Strom tisíciletí. Pri této príležitosti prednesl projev, jehož kopie je uložena ve sklenené láhvi zatavené voskem pod koreny nove zasazeného stromu. Pripomínka o této události byla vytesána do kamene z opuky, na nemž si však pozdeji vyzkoušel nejaký vandal svoji sílu a celý ho ulomil. Znicený kámen byl nahrazen novým, žulovým, se stejným textem, jaký byl na puvodním kameni: Strom tisíciletí. Lípa byla vysazena 17. 11. 2000 starostou mesta Blanska k príležitosti prelomu tisíciletí.
Doufejme, že behem nekolika desítek let se zde bude rozkládat koruna lípy, pod kterou najdou uondaní novodobí poutníci Blanskem stín a odpocinek. Necht se kolem stromu vytvorí príjemná povest: bylo nebylo, jednou se ujaly hlavy pomazané krumpáce a lopaty a vykopaly díru velikou, prevelikou, do které posadily mladici vzrostlou, štíhlou jako panna…

The year 2001 was a year of truly extraordinary - began the new millennium, it was reason enough to plant a memorial tree in Blansko. Tree that would bear further link our time. In a festive day, November 17, 2000 planted the then Mayor Blanska, Miloslav Kala, before blanenským cinema Strom millennium. On this occasion, he gave a speech, a copy of which is stored in a glass bottle sealed with wax under the roots of the newly planted tree. A reminder of this event was carved into the stone of slate on which, however, later tried a vandal its power and all it broke. Ruined stone was replaced by a new, granite, with the same text, which was the original stone: Tree millennium. Linden tree was planted 17. 11. 2000 the mayor Blanska the occasion of the new millennium.
Hopefully, in a few decades there will decompose crown linden under which they find tired modern-day pilgrims Blansko shade and rest. Let the tree creates a nice reputation: it was not the one to take the head anointed with picks and shovels and dug a hole big, very great, in which sat maid grown, thin as a virgin ...
