Rhinebeck Civil War Monument is located in the northeast section of Rhinebeck Cemetery in Rhinebeck, NY.

A 6' high granite figure of a Union soldier stands on top of a 15' by 6.67' by 4.5' granite base. The moustached soldier is wearing a full uniform including a knee-length cape and a cape. He standing at parade rest, holding a rifle by the muzzle with his left hand above his right. The base is decorated cannon balls on each corner and knapsacks with bedrolls on the north and south sides.
On the polished dado on the front of the base is the inscription is the inscription:
RHINEBECK'S
GRATEFUL TRIBUTE
TO THE SELF-SACRIFICING VALOR
OF HER
LOYAL SONS
WHO WENT TO DEFEND
OUR COUNTRYS FLAG
1861 1865
On the bottom of the base, the following battle sites are inscribed in raised capital letters on the east, north, west, and south sides respectively:
GETTYSBURG
PORT HUDSON
CEDAR CREEK
ANTIETAM
A bronze plaque was added at a later date which gives additional information about the monument.
This Monument was erected
by members of the Armstrong Post #104, G.A.R.
from Rhinebeck, N.Y.
It was erected in the fall of 1899 by a
local marble dealer, H.N. Secor and was
dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30,1900.
It was erected to honor their fallen comrades
from the 150th, 128th, 80th, 44th N.Y. Vols.
