FindaGrave.com lists approximately 281 graves here. Two signs, one at the south end and one at the west entrance to the cemetery read:
This hallowed ground is dedicated to all Sonoma Valley Veterans who have served
in the United States armed forces since the Revolutionary War.
Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery is comprised of a couple of acres of landscaped lawn, trees and shrubs which provide a quiet setting. The centerpiece of the cemetery is the Star of Honor, a memorial dedicated to veterans of Sonoma Valley. Etched into the memorial are the many names of local individuals who served our country going back to the American Revolutionary War (nearby Mountain Cemetery contains the grave of Capt. William Smith, the only known grave of an American Revolutionary War veteran in the state of California). This large, marble monument will continue etching the names of local veterans until the year 2076.
There are also a few dedicated benches memorializing past veterans and are located around the outskirts of the cemetery property.
