EN: Moritz Kämpfen was born in 1907 in Brig. He was elected Mayor of Brig in 1945, from 1951 he was also National Councillor. He died in 1967.
The plaque in the courtyard of the Stockalper castle recalls that it was mainly Moritz Kämpfen's merit that the castle was saved, the completely dilapidated came into the possession of the city in 1949. He raised the necessary funds and set up a foundation that takes care of the restoration and maintenance of the castle until today.

DE: Moritz Kämpfen wurde 1907 in Brig geboren. Er wurde 1945 zum Stadtpräsidenten von Brig gewählt, ab 1951 war er auch Nationalrat. Er starb 1967.
Die Gedenktafel im Innenhof des Stockalperschlosses erinnert daran, dass es vor allem Moritz Kämpfens Verdienst war, dass das Schloss gerettet wurde, das 1949 völlig baufällig in den Besitz der Stadt kam. Er sammelte die nötigen Mittel und gründete eine Stiftung, die sich bis heute um die Restauration und den Unterhalt des Schlosses kümmert.
