Elvis came here for burgers when he was in the service, stationed at nearby Fort Hood in the 1950s. So did Mama Blaster's Daddy -- just not at the same time. The burgers are YUM

The Elite cafe has been a favorite stop for travelers passing through Waco for generations. In the 1950s my Dad told me that this was the best burger for 50 miles, and so it was full of soldiers from Fort Hood escaping Army chow. One of those soldiers was Elvis Presley, who liked a booth in the back to eat in peace.
They have changed up the menu, but the Elite burger, the burger that has satisfied hungry travelers for 85 years, remains the same as always -- simply YUM.
