Ornith, my brother BTGooch and myself noticed this turtle and stopped the car to help it across the neighborhood street in Waynesville, MO while we were out geocaching, and searching for MY ROCK GC4252Y. We were successful in finding the cache, turned the car around and noticed this turtle walking on the asphalt of the neighborhood street. It was headed for a curb and I thought it would have a hard time getting up on the curb so BTGooch hefted it up over the curb and on to the cut lawn. Once my brother set it on the grass, I snapped a couple of photos and then we continued on, geocaching around the town.
It was a three-toed box turtle, the common kind found in Missouri.
