When's the Fair?: Last Year in October Who's at the Fair?: The CREGENE is an association that is involved in the safeguarding of seven local races and three domestic plants of the Marais Poitevin. This patrimonial approach, now there are twenty years at the initiative of the Marais Poitevin Interregional Park, now meets the environmental and socio-economic challenges our society faces. Indeed, this domestic biodiversity is not only a genetic resource base essential for the future of humanity, but it also promotes sustainable agriculture, environmentally friendly and conserve a local social and economic fabric which benefits the inhabitants of the territory. Le CREGENE est une association qui s’investit dans la sauvegarde de sept races locales et de trois espèces végétales domestiques du Marais Poitevin. Cette démarche patrimoniale, entreprise il y a une vingtaine d’années à l’initiative du Parc Interrégional du Marais Poitevin, répond aujourd’hui aux enjeux environnementaux et socio-économiques auxquels notre société doit faire face. En effet, cette biodiversité domestique constitue non seulement un réservoir de ressources génétiques indispensable pour l’avenir de l’humanité, mais elle permet également de promouvoir une agriculture durable, respectueuse de l’environnement et de conserver un tissu social et économique local qui bénéficie aux habitants du territoire.
