DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 (CAA) THE STATION IS ABOUT 1-1/2 MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE CAPITOL BUILDING IN NASHVILLE AT THE SITE OF THE NASHVILLE CITY GENERAL HOSPITAL LOCATED ON HERMITAGE AVENUE AT MIDDLETON STREET. IT IS A RED-BRICK STACK AND HAS AN OVER-ALL HEIGHT OF 117 FEET.

THE TOP AND CENTER OF THE STACK WAS THE POINT OBSERVED UPON.
