Briar Creek Lake was built in 1968 under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act. It was built by Columbia County, Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Pennsylvania Fish Commission with the assistance of the Soil Conservation Services of the US Department of Agriculture.
