The bridge is 468 m long, consisting of 6 x 37 m steel truss spans, and additional steel plate girder section for the approaches. It is two laned, with a pedestrian path as well.
While the bridge had a span segment (25 m) designed to be lifted it was never functional.
When you are hunting for the geocache
Dennis the Bridge it can be quite scary as the bridge sways a lot when trucks cross it.
Evidently the name of the bridge came from an engineer of the Department of Main Roads (the DMR of the plaque), Spencer
Dennis.
Don't attempt to get a close up shot of the plaque, as it is on the wrong side of the bridge.
