Long River Presbyterian was built in 1872 and originally located in the village of Long River. It served the village well into the 20th century before a dwindling congregation and a deteriorating infrastructure caused its closure.

It was bought and moved to the Avonlea Village entertainment and shopping complex near Cavendish in the early 21st century. It has since undergone internal and external restoration, although it no longer holds services.
