I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey BM from 1954 in good condition. It is embedded in a low-lying lava rock boulder as part of a rocky outcrop. The NGS datasheet is now obsolete since virtually every reference landmark mentioned is either gone or has been rerouted. The lumber railroad is gone. Roads have been rerouted. This station appears on a topography map as 'BM 4830'. The NGS coordinates are way off but my more accurate posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 0.6 MI SW FROM TENNANT. 0.6 MILE SOUTHWEST ALONG A GRADED ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT TENNANT, AT THE Y JUNCTION OF A GRADED ROAD LEADING SOUTH TO MC CLOUD, IN THE TOP OF A LAVA OUTCROP ON THE TOP OF THE NORTHWEST END OF A LAVA KNOLL, 105 YARDS SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF THE JUNCTION, 118.3 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST RAIL OF THE NORTHWEST TRACK OF A LUMBER RAILROAD, 55 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 0.9 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE OUTCROP, AND ABOUT 6 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD.
