At the distinctive log church at Quilchena BC is a shrine for Our Lady of Lourdes. Adjacent to the statue is a church bell that tells some of the history of the church. The bell erected in 1908 was partially melted when the original church burned.

The lettering is obscure near the edges as the back of the bell was melted during a fire that destroyed the original log church. There was no information on the fire available at the site, or in web information on the church or the Upper Nicola Indian Band. The church is a mission church of the Roman Catholic Sacred Heart Church in Merritt. The church serves the Upper Nicola Indian Band 1 Quilchena.
The founder of the church, Jos Guichon also founded with his brother the Guichon Ranch and the historic Quilchena Hotel (WMPKQ7). The current Lt Governor of BC is Judith Guichon, a well known rancher from the Nicola Valley and related by marriage to the original Guichon family.
