This retired cab sits on display on the grounds of a railroad construction/repair company in the Sandhills Region of North Carolina. Owner of the company collects many different types of rail equipment including ROW maintenance stock, rail cars and other rail memoriablia. One is not allowed on this area the propery but he holds an open house on October on a section of his land to view some of his finds.
This cab has a paint scheme to bring attention to program to helps employees with substance abuse problems get help and be able to mark off if called in. They told the caller "Redblock" and the individual was marked off without penalty. There were locomotives and cabs painted with this scheme in the 80's and 90's. This was a union approved endeavor I am told.
