The church congregation was first organized in 1980. They met in various rented facilities until Sunday, April 1, 2001. The land had been purchased in 1996 with a groundbreaking ceremony occurring on March 28, 1999. Over that time the congregation grew from 9 to 350 members. The church slogan is "Connecting people to Jesus".
