Mr. Thompson's star is located on Rodeo Plaza, near the entrance to Billy Bob's Texas. The star says:

Hank Thompson has been an integral part of the music industry since the 1940's. He has recorded in each of the seven decades since he recorded "Whoa Sailor" in 1946. Hank has sold over 60 millions recordings and has toured extensively around the globe. Hank is a leader in the music industry with accomplishments including the first music based television show to be broadcast in color, the first artist to travel with sound and lighting systems, the first to record a live album, the first to record a live album in Las Vegas and, along with Frank Sinatra, the first artist to record in seven consecutive decades. In 1989 Hank was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Hank Thompson died November 6, 2007.
