Still in use today by Amtrak. The building is composed of 2 distinct sections joined by a protective outside waiting platform. The exterior of all is Menomonie red pressed brick with cream-colored Mankato limestone. The limestone trim is also used for the windows and doors. The building does not have any particular architecture style, built primarily to meet functional requirements, however it does have Victorian Gothic influences.
In its heyday Winona served five different railways that were built.
