The Jackson’s Mill Bridge is a 35 foot long covered bridge that spans Kings Creek for King Creek Road (T853) in Hanover Township, Washington County. The bridge is located about 2 miles northeast of Paris. It has a queens post truss and has a 15 ton load limit. The bridge is painted barn red and has a corrugated metal roof. The overall condition of the bridge is excellent. It had to be recently reconditioned. The paint is new. A look underneath revealed that the queens post is not the reason for the 15 ton load limit, but rather a series of brand new beefy steel beams. The queens post is just window dressing to preserve the original bridge. With the new paint, the bridge has no graffiti. We could not find a date or plaque on the bridge. Compared to the Krepps Bridge, Jackson’s Mill was a work of beauty. They did a very nice job of reconditioning the bridge. There is a wide spot to park a short distance from the bridge.
