The Student Center is named after Cesar Chavez and this mural featuring Chavez overlooks the entrance. The mural was painted by Carlos Gonzalez and was dedicated about seven months after the SFSU Student Union was renamed after Chavez.

Though the dove depicted here is not holding an olive branch, it is listed at the site 88 Peace Monuments.

The mural can be seen in Google Street View.
