In the 1980s the capacity decreased significantly because the stands on the IJssel-side were replaced by seats (which came from 'De Kuip').
'De Adelaarshorst' is a cosy stadium because of its location, build and history. The structure is situated in the middle of a residential area. The tribunes are very close to the field, similar to UK stadiums.
The Deventer audience is known to be loyal, loud and enthousiastic. 'De Adelaarshorst' has, since the removal of the seats on the Brinkgrever-side (B-side) the largest standing area of the Dutch stadiums. The B-side is also the home of the most enthousiastic supporters. The Deventer audience is often regarded as the 12th man and can create a frenzy in the small stadium.
