Walter James Vincent "Rabbit" Maranville started his major league career on September 10, 1912 at age 20. He played his last game on September 29, 1935 at age 43. At 5'5" and 155 pounds he was small but fast, hence his nickname "Rabbit". His record 23 seasons in the National League wasn't broken until 1986 by Pete Rose of the Cincinnati Reds.
