Long Description:
The first phase of the Agawam Dog Park opened one month early in August 2015. The park features a 1 acre play area for large dogs (equal to or larger than 25 lbs.), 0.5 acre space for small dogs (less than 25 lbs.), picnic, and seating areas, dog watering facilities and a double-gated entrance at the end of Armory Drive. The dog park is available to all dogs with up-to-date vaccinations and rabies shots. Children under 8 years old are not allowed. Children younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The park is entirely enclosed by a 5.5' high chain link fence. The surface is grass and there are some play equipment installed for the dogs. In the next phase more equipment will be provided, including special structures and equipment for puppies to play on.
