The tree is by artist Joe Tyler. It is of rusted iron and has a bench surrounding the base. The leaves are named for those who contributed to or otherwise supported the adopt-a-tree program and helped to return native vegetation to the Salt River bed. Names are cut into the leaves so they are highlighted by the sun shining though. The whole tree is surrounded by a low stone wall.
