The Furnace was built around 1845 along Sugar Creek. It is a round furnace constructed out of cut stone and has four openings. The stones in the top potion were removed for road construction. The remaining portion is in fairly good shape.
It is only about 25 yards off Pa 427 and is visible from the road.
