The fountain consists of a square stone basin that has fish reliefs on its sides. A square pillar stands in the middle of the basin and has a water spout on each side. On top of the pillar is a bronze sculpture of two hens and a rooster. All three birds are facing the same direction and appear to be staring at something in the distance. A brass plaque on the basin is inscribed with the following text in Norwegian:
