EN: The estate New Schauenburg is located in the hills south of Pratteln in the immediate vicinity of the castle ruins New Schauenburg. The property consists of a large main building with annexes and several freestanding outbuildings.
The manor was built in the 15th century as an ecclesiastic brother house, the land was donated by the knight Hans Bernhard von Eptingen. A short time later it was taken over by the beguines. After the Reformation, the estate went through different hands.
The heyday came in the 18th century, as a spa and place of entertainment was opened, which became popular with the Basel upper class. From this period is also a large part of today's buildings structure. In the 19th century the estate became the summer residence of the families Iselin and Burckhardt.
DE: Das Landgut Neu-Schauenburg befindet sich in den Hügeln südlich von Pratteln in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft der Burgruine Neu-Schauenburg. Das Anwesen besteht aus aus einem grossen Hauptgebäude mit Anbauten und mehreren freistehenden Nebengebäuden.
Das Landgut wurde im 15. Jahrhundert als kirchliches Bruderhaus erbaut, das Grundstück war eine Schenkung des Ritters Hans Bernhard von Eptingen. Kurze Zeit später wurde es von den Beginen übernommen. Nach der Reformation ging das Landgut durch verschiedene Hände.
Die Blütezeit kam im 18. Jahrhundert, als ein Heil- und Vergnügungsbad eröffnet wurde, das von der Basler Oberschicht gerne besucht wurde. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch ein Grossteil der heutigen Bausubstanz. Im 19. Jahrhundert diente das Gut als Sommerresidenz der Familien Iselin und Burckhardt.
