The Cherokee National Capitol building was constructed in 1867, and still remains the location of the tribal courts. The sidewalk around this block-square complex, as well as walkways across the grounds have hundreds and hundreds of donated pavers. The grounds are beautifully maintained with memorials, a gazebo, and other points of interest.
Several large stones imbedded in the sidewalk give long descriptions of the various points of history in the Cherokee experience. Many pavers are engraved with the names of Cherokee members with their Roll number.
