[EN] At the instigation of the Amis du Moulin d'Artenay, the mill has now rediscovered its previous splendour: it grinds barley and wheat, and the impressive centrifugal enables demonstrations of flour sieving. In addition to its domineering stone silhouette reaching 16 metres in height and rotating roof operated from inside, the Moulin d'Artenay is equipped with the famous Berton system controlling the opening of mechanical sails (a combination of small boards with a wingspan of approximately 21.4 metres) and their surface area exposed to the wind. With the capacity to reach a speed of 8 rotations per minute, the sails operate a millstone of one tonne completing 80 rotations per minute capable of producing 100 kg of flour.
