The Springer school and gymnasium buildings were constructed by the WPA in 1936-1938. They are sturdy buildings constructed of native sandstone from the local area.

The cornerstone is located on the gymnasium building and consists of a two-sided stone reading:

________
Superintendent

The classroom building is a one-story native stone building with a flat roof. It once had casement windows, eight panes high, with units of five in the front and three on the sides. (See photos on website below for pictures from the mid-1980's.) Today, those windows have been replaced by larger panes, three high.

Behind the classroom building is a stone gymnasium with a barrel roof. The cornerstone is located on the southwest corner. Website below has great pictures of this gym. http://oli_shpo.okstate.edu/resultquery.aspx?id=67294&pbc=P
