Holland is already known for its monumental tulip fields, but here’s something even more impressive: the Bloemencorso flower festival in Zundert, a small 20 000 people town north east of Belgium. And by flower festival, we mean gigantic flower sculptures on moving floats, driving down the streets!
The flower parade uses only dahlias.

Held since 1936, the flower festival invites participants to create the floats on voluntary basis, and it is now a competition between different neighborhoods of the town. The sculptures are made entirely from dahlias, and since they can only stay fresh for so long, putting them on the structure is the last thing people do before the festival. The Bloemencorso is held on the first Sunday of September. Save the date!
