EN: The karst trail takes you from Zwingen via the Kaltbrunnental to Grellingen. The path leads past countless caves and sinkholes, which are hardly gathered in such a small space in another place in Switzerland as in this karst foothills of the Jura. Along the way there are 14 information boards explaining the geology and history of the area in general and the most spectacular caves in particular.
The trail begins about one kilometer east of the station of Zwingen. The route is about 9.5 kilometers long on well-paved nature trails. It can be completed in two to three hours, with visits to the various caves but you should calculate more time. Also having resistant clothing and a torch light are helpful.
There is a parking at the trailhead, but it is not a round trail, so it's better to use public transport.
DE: Der Karstlehrpfad führt von Zwingen über das Kaltbrunnental nach Grellingen. Der weg führt an zahllosen Höhlen und Dolinen vorbei, die kaum an einem anderen Ort in der Schweiz auf so engem Raum versammelt sind wie in diesem karstigen Ausläufer des Jura. Entlang des Weges befinden sich 14 Schautafeln mit Erklärungen zur Geologie und Geschichte der Gegend im allgemeinen und der spektakulärsten Höhlen im besonderen.
Der Weg beginnt etwa einem Kilometer östlich des Bahnhofs von Zwingen. Der Weg ist etwa 9.5 Kilometer lang auf gut befestigten Naturwegen. Er kann in zwei bis drei Stunden absolviert werden, durch Besuche der verschiedenen Höhlen sollte man aber mehr Zeit einrechnen. Auch unempfindliche Kleidung und eine Taschenlampe sind von Vorteil.
Am Start hat es einen Parkplatz, aber weil der Pfad kein Rundweg ist, reist man besser mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln an.
