Roux Library is an integral part of the intellectual life of Florida Southern College. The library's mission is to educate students in developing lifelong, critical information-seeking skills through its staff, collections, and services. This building was constructed between 1966 and 1968, and replaced the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed E. T. Roux Library, located south of this structure.

The library is located near the northwest corner of campus. It is open to the public (no circulation privileges). The library is presently (Fall 2006) undergoing construction of a cyber café on the first floor. That and another construction project make for unattractive photographs of the front of the building, for the time being. The image on the Waymarking page is of the north (rear) side of the building, adjacent to parking. The main entrance on the south side of the building reamins accessible during construction.

Wireless internet access is provided by the City of Lakeland at no cost.
