HU2125: DOWNS AZ MK (USC&GS/NGS, Berlin, MD) - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This station, a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey azimuth mark, is located in Berlin, MD. It is set in a concrete post flush with the ground, and is to the immediate north of U.S. Route 50, west from Sunset Memorial Park, and east from Gray's Corner strip mall:

RECOVERY NOTE BY MARYLAND DOT HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION 1991 THE MARK IS LOCATED ABOUT 5.8 MI (9.3 KM) WEST OF OCEAN CITY, 2.37 MI (3.81 KM) NORTHEAST OF BERLIN AND ON ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAYS 50 AND 113 NEAR BERLIN, GO EAST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 50 FOR 1.6 MI (2.6 KM) TO THE MARK ON THE LEFT. IT IS 16.6 M (54.5 FT) NORTH-NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE WESTBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY, 31.2 M (102.4 FT) WEST OF A DRAINAGE INLET, 28.2 M (92.5 FT) WEST OF A 1.5 FT (0.5 M) GUM TREE, 22.8 M (74.8 FT) SOUTHWEST OF A CARSONITE WITNESS POST AND SET IN THE TOP OF A 1.0 FT (0.3 M) ROUND CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.

Park safely off the roadway. You may have to cross over a ditch by the road to get to the general area. There was no witness post, and although the mark is flush with the ground, there might be grass cover. However, the posted coordinates are NGS published adjusted coordinates, so using these will help you find it fairly quick.
