EN: The first railway station of Chur was opened in 1858. It was at the current location, but only as a temporary wooden shed, then far out of town. It was the terminus of the route Rheieck-Chur of the United Swiss Railways. In 1860, a new station building was built. This was in 1876 moved to a new location, where it still stands today. At the old place the current main building was built by Hans Boesch in late Classicist style until 1878. In the following years, the station has been repeatedly rebuilt and expanded. 1896 the narrow gauge railway RhB has been integrated into the station, which opened new lines in 1903 and 1914. 1926-1928 the station was completely rebuilt and enlarged, the existing buildings were renovated. In 1993, a roofed bus station by Richard Brosi and Robert Obrist was opened over the track level. Other renovations and extensions were carried out between 2000 and 2006.
Today Chur is the most important railway junction of the Canton Graubünden with direct connections by the SBB to Zürich, Basel, St. Gallen and even to Hamburg, Dortmund and Brussels. The RhB operates nine lines from Chur in various areas of the Canton and to the Valais.
DE: Der erste Bahnhof von Chur wurde 1858 eröffnet. Er befand sich am heutigen Standort, war aber nur ein provisorischer hölzerner Schuppen, damals weit ausserhalb der Stadt. Es war der Endbahnhof der Strecke Rheieck-Chur der Vereinigten Schweizerbahnen. 1860 wurde ein neues Aufnahmegebäude erbaut. Dieses wurde 1876 an einen neuen Standort verlegt, wo es heute noch steht. Am alten Ort wurde bis 1878 das heutige Aufnahmegebäude von Hans Boesch im spätklassizistischen Stil erbaut. In den folgenden Jahren wurde der Bahnhof mehrfach umgebaut und erweitert. 1896 wurde die Schmalspurbahn RhB in den Bahnhof integriert, die 1903 und 1914 neue Linien eröffnete. 1926 bis 1928 wurde der Bahnhof komplett umgebaut und erweitert, wobei die bestehenden Gebäude renoviert wurden. 1993 wurde ein überdachter Busbahnhof von Richard Brosi und Robert Obrist über der Gleisebene eröffnet. Weitere Umbauten und Erweiterungen erfolgten zwischen 2000 und 2006.
Heute ist Chur der wichtigste Bahnknotenpunkt des Kantons Graubünden mit Direktverbindungen der SBB nach Zürich, Basel, St. Gallen und bis nach Hamburg, Dortmund und Brüssel. Die RhB betreibt neun Linien ab Chur in verschiedene Gebiete des Kantons und bis ins Wallis.
