"Peloton" is a French term for a group of bicyclists who ride close together to save energy.

The sculpture, Peloton, is a 30-foot long stainless steel sculpture made of ovals representing a line of racing bicycles.

The sculpture took four months to build. Beckman worked with artist Tom Diel to get the steel tubes shaped into the correct shapes.

Beckman said the sculpture was inspired in part by Mayor Betsy Price (44th Mayor of Fort Worth; elected June 18, 2011), an avid cyclist who has pushed to make the Fort Worth more bike-friendly.

Beckman donated the sculpture, 800 lbs of stainless steel, to the Trinity River Water District. TRWD furnished the concrete base.
