This is one of twelve structures at Florida Southern College designed by and constructed under the supervision of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is one of two Wright chapels on campus.

The Annie Pfeiffer Chapel is the most widely-recognized Wright building on campus. It was the first one constructed, and it became the physical and spiritual centerpiece of Wright's "Child of the Sun" campus. Constructed between 1938 and 1941, the chapel cost $100,000 to complete. More than 4,600 decorative blocks were cast on-site from a coquina and concrete mixture to form the walls. Thousands of pieces of colorful decorative glass were installed within the perforated blocks, giving the chapel a jewel-box appearance from the interior. The towers are reinforced concrete with a decorative metal steeple over massive skylights.

The chapel originally seated 1,000, with no one more than fifty feet from the pulpit.
