"St. Augustine man Randy W. Miller, 43, died Saturday morning from injuries sustained from a hit-and-run wreck on Friday night.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed Miller's death Monday morning. Jacksonville television stations had reported the fatality on Saturday, but the FHP did not issue an official release until Monday morning.
According to Friday's release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Miller was on a bicycle at about 10:15 p.m. pedaling east on State Road 16 in the designated bicycle lane when he was hit by a vehicle attempting a right turn onto Four Mile Road.
The other vehicle did not stop, and FHP and county law enforcement are still trying to determine the driver of the vehicle.
Miller was taken to Flagler Hospital and then transferred to UF Health Jacksonville by air ambulance. He died there at about 11:35 a.m. Saturday, the FHP release said.
Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at 824-8304."
