Deltoid Poplar and aluminum
This tree grew here on the banks of the river. In the central portion, the fence pattern reproduces pipes that intersect. This is a reference to the first function of the location, a pumping and filtration station.
The motifs carved in two slices on either side of the central part are filters used in the pulp and paper industry as well as social bonds and industrial fabrics which are derived from the history of the place. Both sides are recessed, suggesting the cylindrical interior of the pipes of the pumping station.
This work was carried out with the participation of Yvon Laforest, Cyndie Lemay, Gérard Pautel and Guy Pronovost.

Peuplier deltoïde et aluminium
Ce tronc d'arbre a poussé ici sur les berges de la rivière. Dans la partie Centrale, le grillage reproduit des tuyaux qui se croisent. Il s'agit d'une référence à la fonction première du lieu, une station de pompage et de filtration.
Les motifs sculptés dans les deux tranches se situant de chaque côté de la partie centrale représentent les filtres utilisés dans l'industrie des pâtes et papiers ainsi que le tissu social et industriel qui est issu de l'histoire du lieu. Les deux côtés sont évidés, suggérant l'intérieur cylindrique des tuyaux de la station de pompage.
Ce travail a été réalisé avec la participation d'Yvon Laforest, Cyndie Lemay,Gérard Pautel et Guy Pronovost. |
