The Gorham Fire Department has a part-time Fire Chief, Robert Stillion Jr, 35 volunteer firefighters and 2 non-firefighting volunteers. The Fire Department performs inspections of all businesses to ensure they meet the Fire Code requirements.
The Department is very involved in the community and actively participates in local events. The Fire Department, along with the Fayette Area Chamber Of Commerce, co-host a Halloween Party for local children. This event is very popular and has become an annual treat for the children of the community. The Fire Department hosts The Annual feather Party and a chicken dinner during the Fall Festival to raise funds. The Fire Department gives their time to hang lights in the village for the Christmas season.

The apparatus of the Fire & Rescue includes a Heavy Rescue, a Water Tender, an Engine, a Brush, a Gator and a Medic.

During the first 6 months of 2014, they answered to 19 Fire calls and 153 Rescue calls.

Emergency Medical Services including but not limited to transportation is provided by Gorham Fire Department. EMS can be reached by dialing 9-1-1. The EMS is truly a lifesaver!
