This cross section is from a Queensland Kauri Pine (Agathis robusta) trunk with estimated age of 619 years.
The tree, which once stood at 50m, was logged in the Danbulla State Forest in 1939.

This cross section is one of the first displays seen as you enter the Melbourne State Museum. Growth rings are indicated in 100-year-intervals across the 2,5m diameter.
