Gelderland is a province in the Netherlands. The coat of arms contains blue, yellow (gold) and black. For this reason the flag of Gelderland also has these colors. Naturally these colors are repeated in regional signs.
Gelderland takes its name from the duke of Gelre whose family ruled this area since the 12th century.
Slogan: "Gelderland, dichterbij dan je denkt". This means: "Gelderland, closer than you think."
