EN: The Capuchin monastery was founded in 1648 north of the historic center of Olten. The main buildings are arranged around a courtyard, in the southwestern corner there is the monastery chapel. There is a vast, walled monastery garden between the houses and the river bank, which is open to the public during the summer twice a week. Guided tours of the monastery can be booked at the tourist office.
In the monastery live currently 15 monks. In addition to the regional pastoral care the monastery Olten is the home base for the Swiss Capuchin missionaries abroad.
DE: Das Kapuzinerkloster von Olten wurde 1648 nördlich der Altstadt gegründet. Die Hauptgebäude sind um einen Innenhof angeordnet, in der südwestlichen Ecke befindet sich die Klosterkapelle. Zwischen den Häusern und dem Flussufer befindet sich ein ausgedehnter, ummauerter Klostergarten, der im Sommer zwimal pro Woche für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich ist. Fühurngen durch das Kloster können bei der Touristeninformation gebucht werden.
Im Kloster wohnen zur Zeit 15 Mönche. Neben der regionalen Seelsorge ist das Kloster Olten die Heimatbasis für die schweizerischen Kapuzinermissionare im Ausland.
