EN: The Rathskeller in Olten was built in 1673. The four-storey house with Gothic windows and half-timbered top floor is on the front and back painted with scenes from the Swiss Peasants' War in 1653, when Olten participated on the side of the insurgents and was defeated. The restaurant, called "Chöbu" by the locals, has recently been renovated. Also worth seeing is the dining room, which is decorated with hundreds of historic firearms.
DE: Der Rathskeller in Olten wurde 1673 erbaut. Das vierstöckige Haus mit gotischen Fenstern und Fachwerkdachstock ist auf der Vorder- und Rückseite bemalt mit Szenen aus dem Schweizer Bauernkrieg 1653, an dem Olten an der Seite der Aufständischen teilnahm und unterlag. Das Restaurant, von den Einheimischen "Chöbu" genannt, wurde kürzlich frisch renoviert. Ebenfalls sehenswert ist die Gaststube, die mit hunderten von historischen Feuerwaffen dekoriert ist.
