This old water tower is located behind the building that is currently the Rhome, TX City Hall. It has a fun arrow on top. It serves as a benchmark and the original data sheet can be found here: (

There is a new water tower in town, so not sure if this one is still being used, but glad it is still here to admire.
The station description is as follows: "DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1946 (JCP) STATION IS A 4-LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE, 85 FEET HIGH AND PAINTED BLACK. THE TANK HAS A CAPACITY OF 35,000 GALLONS. IT IS LOCATED NEAR THE CENTER OF THE VILLAGE OF RHOME AND ABOUT 800 FEET W OF U.S. HIGHWAY 81. THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE APEX OF THE ROOF.
